Finding Your Pack Leaders

Updated: Nov 4

Recruiting and retaining exceptional leaders has always been central to business success. In today’s ever changing landscape, organisations need to find leaders to drive growth and innovation, who demonstrate adaptability, empathy and digital fluency.

44% of workers’ skills are expected to be disrupted by 2027, and six out of ten will require training to remain relevant in the evolving job market. This shift is primarily driven by the rapid adoption of technologies like AI, big data, and digital platforms, with 75% of companies planning to integrate these technologies into their operations within the next five years. Leaders will need to lead teams in businesses that are forever being disrupted.

High-potential employees deliver 91% more value to an organisation than their peers. With the recruitment market being more challenging than ever, it is essential that businesses identify and nurture talented candidates to build strong leadership pipelines and weave succession planning into their business plans.

So, what should you look for when uncovering talented individuals?

  • Learning Agility: Leaders who can absorb new information, adapt to changing circumstances, and apply their findings are invaluable in an unpredictable market.

  • Emotional Intelligence (EQ): Self-awareness, empathy, and the ability to manage emotions—is a critical differentiator, responsible for 58% of a leader’s job performance. Over 90% of top performers possess a high degree of emotional intelligence.

  • Adaptability and Resilience: With over 75% of executives recognising resilience as a critical skill for future leaders, leading teams to thrive in any wave of change will be essential in years to come.

  • Vision and Strategic Thinking: Leaders with strong strategic thinking skills can set long-term goals and develop actionable plans that align with the company’s mission.

  • Digital Fluency: A huge 87% of senior business leaders consider digitalisation a priority, but only 40% believe their workforce has the necessary digital capabilities. To navigate that, those leaders will need to advocate for digital transformation and lead by example.

Finding future leaders requires a robust assessment process and a commitment to long-term development. With the right approach, you can ensure that your organisation not only meet today’s challenges but also seizes tomorrow’s opportunities.
